My candy arrived in perfect condition. I highly recommend spending the extra money to purchase the cold packs when shipping during the hot summer months.
The cold packs are what I would say as average. I also live in Louisiana and they have a long way to travel, so I would just say if it is really hot outside, buy several cold packs! I only bought 2 and it arrived just fine but it also was late May/Early June.
Only one box out of my whole order was a bit melted or smushed but the weather was also exceeding 70-75 degrees. It’s all getting eaten either way and the chocolate was still decently firm when the time came. May order additional ice packs next time!
These were room temperature when the package arrived, so I do not know if they were useful earlier in their travels. However, none of the chocolate had melted.
The cold packing is smaller than the impression I got when I ordered it. It’s a good choice for a pack of 6 chocolates or up to 6-8 candy chocolates. It helps that this company is doing a great job placing the chocolates in appropriate bags and placing stickers outside that the package contains chocolates.
The cold pack kept the truffles solid and there was no sign of melting (which always concerns me when shipping chocolate).
On the west coast, 2 day shipping 4 ice packs. Nothing was melted, it was about 84 degrees and I get my mail about 5pm. I put it in the fridge after unpacking, checked back in 20 minutes everything was perfect. Any closer to summer and will need more ice pack and faster shipping.
